SUMMARY
This blog's other five posts,
are about our TK school values,
and my view on them.
To put the school values altogether,
they are:
-Ability to Succeed
-Loyalty
-Charity
-Ingenuity
& last of all,
-Integrity.

If a person can have all of those values in their character,
they are one of the best people to be with.
So,
strive! C:

INGENUITY

INGENUITY
"We embrace Ingenuity in the pursuits of creativity and innovation."

Ingenuity(n):
the quality of being cleverly inventive or resourceful.

Ingenuity means being able to think creatively.
Like the sony creative award?
It drives students to be creative and invent toys for the public.

Inventors are inventors,
because they have ingenuity!
They get those sudden bursts of inspiration,
which gives them ideas to invent something.

Our school has it for a school value,
to remind us to have an active imagination!
So we can have our own thinking and share them with others.

"Ingenuity, plus courage, plus work, equals miracles."

CHARITY

CHARITY
"We cherish Charity as it is a noble act to serve the community."

Charity(n): generous actions or donations to aid the poor, ill, or helpless.

To me,
when I read the explanation about charity,
I thought of Robin Hood.
What about you?

Robin Hood stole from the rich,
but he did that to help the poor people.
That is counted charity, too.

But nowadays in Singapore,
after the NKF incident,
people have had a bad impression on charity.

Like when a person comes up to another person and say,
would you mind contributing to the ______ fund?
The person will just shake their head and walk away.

It's sad,
but some people just don't want to risk getting cheated.
They have their own reasons for not helping.

Well,
if you are capable of helping the poor,
help!
Some of them are really in need.

Charity is one of our school values,
and for a good reason.
It drives us to help people,
and be a good person.

"Charity is a virtue of the heart, and not of the hands."

LOYALTY

LOYALTY
"We inculcate Loyalty to our school and nation."

What is loyalty?
You might say,
it is one of the school values.

-_-ll other than that.

Loyalty(n): the state or quality of being loyal; faithfulness to commitments or obligation

So that means that loyalty means being loyal,
and faithful,
to another party.

The party may not be a country, or such.
It could be your school,
friend,
or even family!

For instance,
a case of being loyal to your group in a competition.
If you are loyal,
you will keep what the group is doing a secret.
But if you are not,
you will go around blabbing to everyone what your group is doing.
&when your group finds out you did that,
no one will trust you ever again.

So this teaches us about integrity, too!

To be loyal to your school and country as a student,
you can sing the national anthem, school song,
and say the pledge loudly every morning during assembly.

Isn't loyalty simple?
So,
be loyal!
and you will be trusted and liked most of your time.

"Loyalty means nothing unless it has at its heart the absolute principle of self-sacrifice."

INTEGRITY

INTEGRITY
"We value Integrity as it guides our every move."

And again, look above.
This post's topic will be about integrity,
which is also one of the school values.

An explanation for the word:
Integrity(n): to be honest and firm in your moral principles.

In my understanding,
integrity means being honest,
telling the truth,
not cheating, too.

Because once you lie,
you will go on lying for the rest of your life.
But one day if the lie backfires,
you will be branded as a cheater,
& no one will ever trust you again.

Integrity.
If there was no integrity in this world,
the world will be a place with people backstabbing each other,
and no relationships would be formed.
That's why it's important.

So,
strive to be a person of integrity,
& then you'll know you're of the best character you can ever be.

"Living with integrity means:
-Not settling for less than what you know you deserve in your relationships.
-Asking for what you want and need from others.
-Speaking your truth, even though it might create conflict or tension.
-Behaving in ways that are in harmony with your personal values.
-Making choices based on what you believe, and not what others believe. "

ABILITY TO SUCCEED

ABILITY TO SUCCEED
"We believe in our Ability to Succeed."

As you can see from the title above,
this post here is about our ability to succeed,
which is one of our TK school values.

Everyone has the ability to succeed,
including you, & me.
But that does not mean you can succeed without putting in any effort at all!
You still have to work a little,
but no worries!
Because in the end, you will earn from it.

At times, even if you don't succeed in the end,
you can just pat yourself on the shoulder and think,
"Well, at least I tried my best!" and smile.

This way, you won't get too depressed over it, and learn a lesson.
Sometimes, the things that you pick up on the "journey",
have more value than the destination.

For me, I try to work hard to succeed academically.
Getting the aggregate score high enough for coming to TK has been a big achievement for me, and I am very happy about it.

The route to your goal may sometimes be hard to go through,
but if you keep your eyes on your goal, and put in enough effort,
you will succeed!

"Success doesn't come to you, you go for it."
